Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
a. Solicits new and renewal package submissions from brokers
b. Negotiates with brokers terms and conditions favorable to the company
c. Prepare quotes and binders
d. Work with raters to ensure proper rates and forms are used.
e. Handles more complex files and portfolios within underwriting authority
Desired Qualifications:
• 3 years plus commercial package underwriting experience. Experience with auto, property and umbrella liability underwriting. There will be a focus on healthcare, life science, and social services.
• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of insurance industry
• Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Internet usage
• Oral and written communication skills
• Negotiation skills
• Marketing skills
