Job Description
This position is for an Underwriter 2 (Junior Underwriter) and is designed for the Senior Processors and Senior Auditors that are looking to take the next step in their career and become a Mortgage Underwriter!
Underwriters provide underwriting to Wholesale Brokers and Retail Loan Officers. Our goal is to provide all clients, internal and external, with the best service in the industry. Our team can only achieve this goal by possessing and constantly demonstrating a positive attitude, excellent communication, superior program knowledge, knowledge of all company policies and procedures, as well as knowledge of the guidelines of our Investors.
Underwriters must be fully competent in underwriting fundamentals including property evaluation, and they are required to have a thorough knowledge of all products and guidelines in order to approve loans to be sellable in the secondary market.
Must be able to analyze each loan submission to determine if the loan meets our investor’s guidelines and offer alternatives when the loan cannot be approved the way it was submitted. Must have the ability to review conditions on approved loan files and clear them when needed, and know and answer product questions.
Qualifications
3-5 recent years of mortgage processing or auditing experience.
