Position Description
Under general direction, underwrites assigned risks. Generally has greater underwriting authority and handles larger accounts and/or more complex risks than the Underwriter position. May develop negotiation strategies.
May identify cross-selling opportunities.
May provide technical direction to underwriting personnel and direct or conduct audits.
Proven record of managing and producing profitable books of business by establishing solid broker and client relationships.
Areas of expertise include the writing of Workers Compensation, Commercial Automobile, and General Liability.
Solid interdepartmental coordination capabilities to include the ability to cross-market other product lines.
Position Requirements
Minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience
Experienced in negotiating terms and conditions with brokers
Able to flourish in a high pressure, fast passed underwriting environment.
Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques.
May have knowledge of a technical specialty
Marketing abilities.
