In this role, you will underwrite and review submitted files to analyze for Capacity, Capital, Character and Condition. This includes ensuring that loan requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate. In addition, you will communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within JPMorgan Chase, uphold fair lending practices of JPMorgan Chase Mortgage, meet targets for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.
Review and analyze borrower documentation to determine income and repayment ability, assess borrower hardship, analyze housing expenses, and determine proper loan resolution.
Review the recommended foreclosure prevention alternative offered to the homeowner to ensure all investor/insurer guidelines were followed.
Analyze delinquency, perform escrow analysis, analyze modification scenarios and proposals and recommend appropriate loan workout.
Maintain responsibility for timely and accurate database maintenance as well as updates and corrections in all related systems.
Obtain all third party approvals including investor and mortgage insurance company approvals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant default practices effecting loan servicing decisions.
May have delegated agency authorities
Qualifications
* 5 + years in field of mortgage banking
* 3+ years underwriting conforming, non-conforming, government and jumbo loans using desktop underwriting programs with supervisory experience
* College degree preferred and or equivalent work experience
* Excellent analytical and decision making skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Expertise knowledge of Lotus Notes, Word, Excel
* Strong negotiation skills
* Knowledge of MI policies
* Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and an expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis, including both cash flow and AGI methods
* Requires knowledge and proficiency in Government, Agency and, Jumbo levels of mortgage underwriting
