Our Baltimore Branch Office has an opening for the following dedicated professional:
Underwriter
•Reviews bond submissions from independent surety agents for commercial surety, contract and subdivision accounts.
•Underwrites assigned accounts, programs and individual bond requests within his/her authority levels. •Reviews and recommends approval or denial of bonds beyond delegated underwriting authority.
•Performs complete analysis of financial statements, credit references, prior account history, work in process schedules, and related surety data.
•Prepares portions of underwriting financial data worksheets for reporting contract and subdivision bonds.
•Evaluates credit reports, perform reference checks and verify data with accounting professionals (e.g., CPA) and banks.

Requirements
•Bachelors Degree in business administration, finance, or in a related field from a college or university is required.
•Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of related underwriting experience in the financial industry, preferably in Surety.
