Job Description

This position requires 6-10 years mortgage lending experience with emphasis on credit and collateral analysis and evaluation. The incumbent is required to underwrite and decision a variety of loan types to include portfolio, conforming sold loans and FHA/VA products. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. The incumbent must be proficient with all HUD/VA, as well as, secondary market (FNMA/FHLMC) underwriting guidelines/requirements. Effective interpersonal skills are a critical component of this position as the incumbent is required to effectively interface with a variety of internal, as well as, external customers. Effective written and oral communication skills are required. Teamwork is essential requirement of the overall job function.Must demonstrate knowledge of the industry in terms of laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act relative to his/her

Job responsibilities:

1. Underwrite and decision a variety of loan types to include purchase and refinance loan transactions.

2. Underwrite, condition, and manage government lending function within the Mortgage Loan Operation. This includes being a DE underwriter and coaching the staff on how to effectively process/close government loans.

3. Provide consultation and direction to loan officers and other associated staff members on marginal and complex transactions and scenarios.

4. Partner with the SVP -Lending Operations or VP/Chief Underwriter to provide continuing education, training and communication to entire company as it relates to credit and underwriting requirements

5. Responsible for reviewing, pricing, and decisions of portfolio products.

6. Must proactively partner with various department managers as needed for the purpose of facilitating corporate objectives.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of all Mortgage and Investor loan types and documents is required. A minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in the mortgage industry in related field (s) is required.
