Description: Summary-

This position is for an individual that is somewhat seasoned as an underwriter. Responsible for ensuring all loans meet both the HUD/Agency underwriting guidelines and adhere to corporate policies and procedures. Individual will work closely with the lead DE Underwriter while underwriting their own files. This position will be filled with someone with the wellness to learn and have an outstanding work ethic. Knowledge of Wholesale is a big plus!

Experience-

DE and/or LAAP plus!

-Requires a minimum of 1-3 year experience underwriting Conventional, FHA and VA

- Knowledge of 203K and VA is a plus

Essential duties-

- Strong knowledge of conventional and non-conforming underwriting guidelines

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail

- Ability to work under minimal supervision is required

- Analyze documentation such as credit, income, assets, and appraisal and make sound underwriting decisions based on this analysis.

- Review application and all pertinent disclosures to ensure compliance with all federal, state and investor requirements.

- Utilize tools such as Lexis/Nexis, Real Quest, and other various on-line tools to help combat fraudulent activity and ensure quality loan decisions.

- Review documentation within our paperless system and ensure documents are properly classified and organized.

- Make quality underwriting decisions while maintaining company turn-time expectations.

- Review and clear conditions on all loans to ensure a complete loan package prior to closing.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Mortgage Builder
